History of NCCT/NCBI
The North Carolina College of Theology was founded by Dr. J. L. Cook in 2001. His goal was to educate men and women with the Word of God. We have accomplished this goal with thousands of students graduating and having successful ministries. Moving forward, in 2021 we divided The North Carolina College of Theology into two separate entities with The North Carolina Bible Institute carrying on as our correspondence institute. The curriculum remains the same with our vision and mission still being to educate men and women with the Word of God. The North Carolina Bible Institute will strive to reach the world, one student at a time.

Mission Statement
NCBI, a Christian institution, is equipping and empowering students within the world marketplace for Godly stewardship by preparing Christian servants who will become spiritually vibrant, Biblically strong, theologically balanced, Spirit-empowered, ministry-equipped and culturally sensistive.
Vision Statement
NCBI, as a Christian institution, is reaching the world for Jesus one student at a time, equipping them with Biblical sound knowledge for effective leadership and servant-hood to impact the Church, marketplace and the world.
Our Program Basis
It is the purpose of the North Carolina Bible Institute (Administration/ Main Campus) to provide continued education programs to students who are unable to attend full-time classes on the main campus. This can be accomplished through our external studies program. We believe that we offer the finest Christian education available in a streamline fashion.
We have purposely abbreviated our requirements for graduate and post-graduate programs in an effort to hold the tuition to al minimum and allow the busy minister ample time to complete his or her desired field of study. Our experienced staff and faculty have labored untiringly over textbooks and materials, separating arduous minor information from major academic information. We believe that upon review of the various programs, students will see we have a streamlined the supporting areas of student by offering the same necessary information in condensed version for less reading and research of materials. It is our position that the same information can be obtained and retained by reading one book rather than three, provided it is the right book.
What We Believe
We are a fundamental, evangelical, Bible-believing school based upon canonized Old Testament and New Testament scripture as the inerrant and infallible Word of God. We accept that the bible is God’s instruction manual for life, and it is not open to any single or denominational interpretation but is written to all mankind.
It is our belief that God created the earth and the universe in six literal days and that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin. We believe that Jesus died on the cross at Calvary, arose from the dead three days later, and now sits at the right hand of God as our High Priest. We believe that those who have been born-again through the blood of Jesus Christ will reign in Heaven for eternity. Finally, we believe that non-believers will be sentenced to a burning hell for all eternity.
Staff and Faculty
Any corporation, institution or government is only as good as its people, and they are its most valuable asset. The North Carolina Bible Institute has been richly blessed with quality staff and faculty. From the office of its president to the administrators and professors, you will find each individual ready and willing to assist every request. Our people are dedicated and loyal to the task of promoting God’s Kingdom through quality Biblical education.
Curriculum and Reference Material
The North Carolina Bible Institute seeks to offer the highest quality curriculum and reference materials. Resources are subject to change, at the discretion of the Executive Board of Directors and not all subjects are offered every year.
Statement of Standards
All students are required to give a testimony of having accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. Each student is expected to conduct himself/herself in a manner that will, at no time, bring reproach upon our Savior or upon NCBI
All students must be a working part of a local church. Time spent in participation within the local church will be logged and turned into the North Carolina Bible Institute. These hours are figured into the student’s semester credit hours as personal ministry. God’s Word demands what we be doers of the Word and not hearers (or students) only.
Application Fee and Tuition
A non-refundable application fee of $60.00 must accompany all applications. Upon approval of application, one-third of tuition, plus cost of textbooks, is due at registration. Please note that no textbooks will be released without pre-payment. The remaining balance of tuition and other applicable fees must be paid in full be April 15th of each school year.
Transferred Credits
The North Carolina Bible Institute reserves the right to allow, or not to allow, credits earned at other institutions for similar courses taken at that institution. If credit is awarded, the candidate will be assessed $2.00 per credit hour. These hours may not exceed 60% of the required hours for graduation from the North Carolina Bible Institute.

Accreditation
If the sole purpose of needing an education is for the Gospel ministry or related field within Christian ministry, secular accreditation is not necessary or required. All Christian churches accept quality Christian education regardless to which accreditation group, if any, the referenced institution belongs. If study is for purpose other than ministry, such as business administrator, engineer, lawyer, etc., students should apply to an institution that belongs to a regional accrediting association. In secular education, regional accreditation is essential. For education of those in Christian service, secular accreditation does little more than typically make the tuition beyond the reach of most ministers.
Degree programs of study offered by North Carolina Bible Institute have been declared by the appropriate state authority exempt from the requirements for licensure, under provisions of North Carolina General Statutes Section (G.S.) 116-15 (d) for exemption from licensure with respect to religious education. Exemption fro licensure is not based upon assessment of program quality under established licensing standards.
NCBI is a member and independent subsidiary of the Accrediting Commission International, Inc. This accrediting association is not formally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, and NCBI has chosen not to be affiliated with any state or federal government agency. NCBI operates legally as an exempt educational institution in and out of the state of North Carolina.
